PraTithi ROC Gold Certification: Beyond Organic Farming

PraTithi ROC Gold Certification: Beyond Organic Farming

Beyond Organic: What PraTithi’s ROC Gold Certification Truly Means

In food, trust should never begin with a claim. It should begin with how the soil is treated, how farmers are supported, how crops are grown and how every ingredient is handled before it reaches your home.

At PraTithi, organic has always meant more than avoiding chemicals. It means respecting the natural systems that nourish us and taking responsibility for every step of the journey from soil to home.

Our Regenerative Organic Certified® Gold recognition reflects that commitment.

What Is Regenerative Organic Certified®?

Regenerative Organic Certified®, commonly known as ROC, is an international agricultural certification overseen by the US-based nonprofit Regenerative Organic Alliance.

Organic certification forms its foundation, but ROC goes further. Its framework brings together three essential pillars:

Soil Health and Land Management
Farming practices should protect soil fertility, encourage biodiversity and help build healthier, more resilient agricultural land.

Farmer and Worker Fairness
The people who grow and handle food should be treated with dignity, fairness and respect.

Animal Welfare
Where animals are part of an agricultural operation, their health, living conditions and natural behaviours must be protected.

ROC therefore looks beyond the final product. It considers the larger farming system behind it land, people, crops, animals where applicable, and long-term ecological responsibility. (Regenerative Organic Alliance)

Why the Gold Level Matters

ROC has three certification levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold.

Gold is the highest achievable level within the ROC framework. Under the published standard, a Gold-level operation must meet all applicable required practices for that level. The framework also requires 100% of the operation’s food- or fibre-producing land to be certified, representing 100% of its revenue from food or fibre production.

Certification is not treated as a one-time achievement. ROC-certified operations are subject to third-party verification and annual recertification audits, helping ensure that the required practices continue beyond the initial assessment. (Regenerative Organic Alliance)

Gold, therefore, is not simply a colour on a seal. It represents the depth and extent of the responsibility being undertaken.

What PraTithi’s ROC Gold Status Represents

The official Regenerative Organic Alliance directory lists PraTithi Organic Foods Private Limited, India, at the Gold certification level. The certified crop portfolio shown in the directory includes Basmati rice paddy, non-Basmati rice paddy, wheat, pulses, millets, quinoa, chia, flaxseed, mustard, coriander, fruits and several other crops. For PraTithi, this recognition represents years of working towards an agricultural system in which food is not produced at the cost of the earth or the people who cultivate it.

It reflects a commitment to:

  • Protecting and improving agricultural soil

  • Supporting natural diversity across farms

  • Maintaining responsible organic practices

  • Building transparent and traceable supply chains

  • Respecting farmers and agricultural workers

  • Creating food systems designed for long-term resilience

More Than “Chemical-Free”

The absence of synthetic chemicals is important but it is only one part of responsible agriculture.

Healthy farming must also ask deeper questions.

Is the soil being nourished or gradually depleted?
Are farms becoming more resilient with time?
Are farmers treated fairly?
Can the origin and handling of the crop be traced?
Is agriculture protecting the future while feeding the present?

ROC begins with recognised organic certification or an approved international equivalent and adds further requirements relating to regenerative land management, social fairness and verification. (Regenerative Organic Alliance)

This is what makes regenerative organic agriculture different. It does not focus only on what farming avoids. It also focuses on what farming actively gives back.

What It Means for Your Family

When you choose food connected to a certified regenerative organic system, you are choosing more than an ingredient.

You are supporting farming practices designed to care for soil, preserve natural resources and strengthen agricultural communities. You are also choosing a system in which certification claims must be supported by documentation, traceability and independent assessment.

The result is a deeper form of trust one rooted not merely in words, but in verified practices.

A Certification and a Continuing Responsibility

We are proud of PraTithi’s ROC Gold status, but we do not see it as a finish line.

The health of the soil must be protected season after season. Farmer relationships must be nurtured over time. Traceability must remain uncompromised. Every crop must continue to be handled with patience, care and integrity.

For us, certification is not a decoration added to the pack.

It is a responsibility carried through the farm, the supply chain and every product that reaches your home.

Because food should do more than nourish today.

It should protect the possibility of tomorrow.
